Leader Training

This leader training is provided for you to increase your knowledge of and comfort with the goals and structure of the Soul Purpose group. The more you understand what the adventure ahead is all about, the better your investment as a disciplemaker will be.

There are four sessions of leader training, each under 20 minutes. As you open each session a brief outline of the content will scroll next to the video image. You may print this outline if you’d like to have a place to take notes as you watch. There is a button at the bottom of the page for reflection questions which may be used after you finish each session.

There is an entire study guide provided on this website to take you through discussion of the book Transforming Discipleship, by Greg Ogden. The book is an important ingredient in preparation for leading your group. The Soul Purpose curriculum is just the vehicle to implement Jesus’ strategy of disciplemaking (start small, go slow) which is so well described in Ogden’s book. Please take time to read the book and access the study guide.

If you have multiple leaders starting groups at your church, you will want to gather at least once to pool your ideas and discuss what you’ve seen and read in these training times. There is a document available to download discussion questions for those meetings.
