Sample Invitation Letter

To My Sisters In Christ,

The season is upon when we are already making commitments for fall while still enjoying a fabulous spring! As I look ahead, one of the involvements on my priority list is joining a Soul Purpose group. Several of you have indicated similar interest. I would ask that you each take the next 5 weeks to prayerfully consider if this is indeed where the Lord is leading you. Following are several items that may help you sort through your decision.

• Soul Purpose is not a bible study or social group but an experiential discipleship group intended to assist authentic community, high accountability, spiritual growth and replication.
• The material consists of 4 twelve to thirteen week modules: Engaging with God, God's People, the Community, and the World. Approximate start-up cost is $25.00 per module; however, other resources are also required.
• The idea is slow, small and intentional…it is not a race to get through the material but a process of transformation in a loving community.
• Group size of 6 or less is practical for a number of solid reasons. This means either 2 groups or breaking the larger group into consistent sub-groups for accountability.
• Attendance is expected. If a person is absent, another group member needs to be available to discuss the group experience and material with you.
• While I have initiated the group; this will be a shared shepherding experience. 
• September 15th, Friday all groups meet for a kick-off. The vision and purpose of the ministry is explained and group testimony time is provided.
• It is extremely beneficial that relationships already exist amongst us; however, know that we need to spur one another on to love and good works!
• If you have been asked to shepherd a Soul Purpose group in fall, this group cannot replace or conflict with that service opportunity.
• Has the Lord already led you to be involved with another group for this experience?
• A sample packet can be provided to you upon your request.
